UAE courts do not have jurisdiction to order Interpol to delete a Red Notice, as Interpol is an intergovernmental organization headquartered in Lyon. However, if you face detention or extradition proceedings, UAE courts will independently assess whether surrender is lawful under domestic law and treaty obligations. Judges examine dual criminality, statute of limitations, and human rights concerns. A strong defence in UAE proceedings can result in release and refusal of extradition, even if the Red Notice remains technically active until challenged separately through the CCF.
