These are parallel but distinct processes. A challenge before Interpol’s Commission for the Control of Files targets the notice itself, arguing it violates Interpol’s rules—typically Articles 2 or 3 of its Constitution prohibiting political, military, religious, or racial persecution. Success results in worldwide deletion. Extradition proceedings in UK courts, by contrast, address whether the UK should surrender you to the requesting state under the Extradition Act 2003. You can pursue both simultaneously; a CCF deletion strengthens your extradition defence, while successfully resisting extradition in the UK does not automatically remove the Red Notice from Interpol’s systems.
