Article 3 of Interpol’s Constitution prohibits intervention in matters of political character. To invoke this protection, you must file a request with the Commission for the Control of Files demonstrating the prosecution’s political nature through evidence such as: statements by foreign officials indicating political motivation, timing correlation with political activities, discriminatory treatment compared to similarly situated individuals, or reports from credible human rights organizations. The CCF evaluates whether the predominant character of the case is political. Success rates improve substantially when documentary evidence establishes a pattern of persecution rather than isolated prosecutorial discretion.
