Thailand does not treat a Red Notice as an arrest warrant, but the Royal Thai Police routinely detain individuals flagged in Interpol’s database during immigration checks or traffic stops. Detention typically occurs under Section 34 of the Immigration Act, allowing authorities to hold a person while the requesting country submits formal extradition documents. If no extradition request follows within 60 days, release becomes possible, though immigration detention may continue separately. Challenging the underlying Red Notice through the CCF simultaneously is critical to prevent re-arrest upon travel.
