Interpol does not share the location of wanted individuals with requesting countries. When a person is stopped or detained based on a Red Notice, local law enforcement in the detaining country communicates with Interpol’s General Secretariat — not directly with Russia. However, if you are formally arrested and extradition proceedings begin, your location becomes known through court records and diplomatic communications. The risk of location exposure increases substantially once any official interaction with law enforcement occurs, making pre-emptive legal action before border crossings particularly important.
