What is an international arrest warrant and how does it differ from an Interpol Red Notice?
An international arrest warrant is a formal legal instrument issued by a national court requesting arrest in another jurisdiction. An Interpol Red Notice is not a warrant — it is a police-to-police request to locate and provisionally detain a person. Both can lead to arrest at borders, but they are addressed differently: international warrants through national extradition law; Red Notices through Interpol’s CCF challenge process.
